For users who want to see the OVID sample application (Patient Dashboard) without running an instance of the OpenVista Server, OVID and other required packages, Medsphere offers a Public Demo server. The Public Demo server currently runs OpenVista Server version 1.5.86.
Please note that the Public Demo server is refreshed nightly at 4AM Pacific Time. The refresh takes approximately 30 minutes; all changes made during the previous day are erased.
Requirements
To connect to the OpenVista Demo Server, you will need:
- A modern web browser such as Mozilla FireFox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Internet Explorer

Login ID: DB1234
Password: DB1234!!
Sample Data
- There are patients on several of the units
- Click on the "5 NORTH - MED" unit
- Click on one of the patients to view their details
Richer Data
- In "5 NORTH - MED", choose "SMITH,BETTY"
- Click on the Begin Date calendar icon.
- Pull down the year choices and select 2005.
- Click on any day on any month in order for the new date selection to take effect.
- Now, with the wider timeframes, you'll be able to see orders, vitals and results in the patient detail tabs.
- This wider timeframe will be in effect for all patients during the session.
- Note that on the Vitals and Results tabs, a list of dates and, for results, descriptions are displayed. Click on a row and a detailed view of the information for that date should appear.
