The Medication Variance log report provides the user with a report that will display medications that were given outside of the allowable time limits set within the BCMA Site Parameters. For most sites they allow medications to be given 60 minutes before and 60 minutes after the scheduled administration, thus a 2 hour window. The report will give you the name of the medication that was early/late, the time variance either a positive number indicating it was given late or a minus sign indicating that it was given early for example (-35) would indicate that the medication was given 35 minutes early. The report will also identify the user that took the late action and display the comments that the user entered.
To run this report go up Reports and select Medication Variance Log from the drop down list:
The report is run based on time period specified by the user and can be run for the specific patient you are currently logged into or for an entire ward.
