License Information

You are about to download OpenVista Server. OpenVista Server is released under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL), a Free Software license published by the Free Software Foundation. Free Software licenses grant you the following four freedoms:

  1. The freedom to use the software for any purpose
  2. The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your needs
  3. The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor
  4. The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements to the public, so that the whole community benefits

You are not required to accept the AGPL to receive or run a copy of OpenVista Server, but you must accept the AGPL to provide the software as a service (e.g., over a network), redistribute or modify OpenVista Server. The main conditions of the AGPL are:

  • You must conspicuously and appropriately publish, on each copy distributed, an appropriate copyright notice, disclaimer of warranty and keep intact all the notices and attributions (see Section 7(b) of the AGPL and the license notice at the top of each source file). You must also include a copy of the AGPL with each copy of OpenVista Server.
  • If you modify your copy or copies of OpenVista Server or any portion of it, or develop a program based upon it, the resulting work must be licensed under the AGPL and all users must have an opportunity to download the complete corresponding machine-readable source code from a network server at no charge.
